Filters comprises a collection of filters for performing image transformations without using Java Advanced Imaging library. They are useful for Java games and graphical apps, and work well in conjuction with the codecs to provide image manipulation capabilties.

Codecs comprises a set of coder/decocers for processing images in formats not supported by the Java core. In addtion, the ICO codec can be used from the command line to convert BMP images to ICO icons.
